Real Estate - Gallery of Homes and Information

Opulent Waitsboro Estates and views of Lake Cumberland – are you ready to start “living right?”

The real estate market of our region is categorized by excellent value and extremely low property tax, where taxes on a $250,000 home can be hundreds of dollars vs. thousands in places in America. This makes affording a large house with open space a reality. Our area boasts yards with acreage, lakefront property or lake view, and peacefulness. Imaging living, and/or raising a family here with us on Lake Cumberland!

Live in Downtown Somerset! Life here is categorized by being able to walk to charming downtown shops, our state-of-the-art library, and Somerset Independent Schools are here – so walks and bike rides to school are the norm. Casual strolls and after dinner bike rides, and weekend BBQs are aplenty.

Eagle’s Nest Country Club: While you don’t have to live here to enjoy membership, for those of us who enjoy “country club living,” we have it here at Eagle’s Nest. Full of annual activities and men’s and women’s groups, as well as tournaments and junior programs, there’s a lot of golf here. But the food services, pool and tennis facilities are “above par” and very popular with members. 'Just minutes from the hospital.'

Traditional Subdivisions: Kolson’s Landing is minutes from the hospital and the main roads of Somerset and offers spacious homes – many water accessible or with a water view. This 5,000 SF home with its awesome view and tire swing into Lake Cumberland is under $500,000. In fact, you can add a pool and dock and still be under this figure. And annual taxes out here in the county would be under $2,000!

That’s Mark Haney at Haney’s Apple Farm – the smile is because he knows your answer if he offers you
one of his homemade fried apple pies

Country Living – Done Right! If owning horses is your pleasure, or owning acres of rolling Kentucky Bluegrass has been your dream, it’s possible here along with all of the accompaniments. They include Blueberry farms where you can pick as much as you want, and an old fashioned drive in movie. A drive home is past a working apple farm and a state park with waterfalls. To many, this is the good life.

Summing it up: To sum it up, you can have an idyllic, simplified life but without sacrificing basic needs for living, and our location can’t be beat – we’re an easy interstate drive to many larger cities. And for families our community is a warm, caring place with good neighbors, and sportsmanship. After all, we’re Kentuckians. We’re all a big family in our “old Kentucky home.”
