Our Hospital – The Regional Leader of Healthcare/Principals/Photo Tours

Serving 42 surrounding counties and an extended patient population base of more than 300,000, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH) provides services to a broad region of Southeastern Kentucky – 40% of our patients are from the border counties of Pulaski County and other parts of the state. We are also of the largest employers in the region, and the only hospital in Pulaski County. Our 2010 expansion of 45 additional patient beds moved us past 300 total patient beds in the hospital.

We are the flagship hospital in the LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPNT), a hospital company with a strong balance sheet whose focus is on the community hospital model. Lifepoint has approximately 50+ non-urban hospitals and it is one of the most operationally efficient hospital corporations in America.

Our expansions between 2004 –2010 totaled more than $100 million and we are growing to be the premier community hospital in America while we serve southeastern Kentucky as its full-service healthcare referral center

The Immediate Past & Our Future:

With the exception of the teaching/residency component, imagine taking a large urban hospital with state-of-the-art services and placing it in a pastoral vacationland setting next to one of the Top 10-largest man-made lakes in the country, with more shoreline than the state of Florida: Lake Cumberland. We are striving to be recognized and serve our patients as the #1 Community Hospital in America.

  • Our incredible growth gained momentum with the completion of our $8 million Regional Cancer Center, opened in 2004, followed by our 5-Star Healthgrades rating in Neurosurgery and the growth of our Spine program in 2005. Our $55 million expansion which added a new patient tower and parking garage was completed in 2006 and we our growing Heart Institute started in 2007.
  • In 2010 expansion our patient bed volume grew over 300 and our Women’s Services added a state-of-the-art Outpatient Center among expansions and capital improvements of more than $30 million. When completed, our growth plan will exceed $100 million.

"Many people don't realize how lucky we are to have a unique combination of a small town atmosphere but with a large regional hospital that provides advanced healthcare services that can only be found in larger metropolitan cities." - Steve House, Rehab

“The biggest surprise I had during my interview process was most of the lab team members working here at LCRH that had over 10+ years of experience. After talking with a several of them I could tell that they were very dedicated and knowledgeable. This made an impression on me since the other hospitals I worked in had high turnover, which affects the service and patient care.” - Penny Harris, Ambulatory Care
